After the Rain - Activated Oxygen Miracle Balm can be applied to the face for calming, healing, moisturizing, regenerating, and balancing of the skin.  It can also be applied to challenged areas of body to accelerate the healing process and promote purification and balance. Particularly spectacular for troublesome skin issues such as Eczema, Rosacea, Acne, and other skin conditions, wounds, bites, burns, etc. It is gentle, yet highly effective.

It will never spoil; however, the ozone potency will diminish after six months at room temperature. The shelf life is two years when refrigerated. Refrigeration is recommended, if possible.

*After the Rain is Heat Sensitive. The oil has become a gel due to the ozonation process, but it will become a liquid in warmer temperatures. This normal and just fine! See The Elaa Ritual below for more details.

About Ozonated Oil

What is Ozone?

Ozone or O3 is Activated Oxygen (O2). Ozone contains three atoms of oxygen rather than the two atoms that Oxygen contains. The additional atom of oxygen becomes a powerful, highly active element. It destroys pathogens, like bacteria, viruses, fungi, odors, and is a potent detoxifyer. Only pure oxygen is left behind as the byproduct.

When oxygen combines with UV rays from the sun, Ozone is created. Ozone protects the Earth by attaching to pollutants and purifying the air we breathe. The ozone layer also protects the Earth from excessive UV rays. It is used to disinfect water, pools, medical environments. It is also used in the treatment a variety of diseases.**  The additional atom in ozone, makes it unsafe to breathe when in a concentrated form, this is why it needs to be infused into the body directly or into other substances in order to be utilized.

What is Ozonated Oil?

Ozone, which is naturally a part of the atmosphere, can be created by flowing oxygen through an electrically charged tube. Ozone gas dissipates very quickly - one way to capture and preserve it is to bubble it through an oil.

For Elaa's products, the oils go through an extended process where ozone is bubbled through it. The process of fully infusing the oil with ozone takes weeks to months. Once fully ozonated, the oil becomes a thick gel. It is solid and will not flow like an oil if at 70 degrees F or under (it will liquify into a thick liquid if it gets warmer). Specific essential oils are introduced for their additional therapeutic benefits.

Why is it called "After the Rain" ?

Ozone has a sharp, clean aroma. It is named after the Greek verb for smell "ozein". As rain approaches, ozone is carried to the ground in downdrafts that move horizontally in the wind that precede the arrival of the rain. As rain falls, it creates a downdraft of air, which pulls more ozone gas to the surface of the earth. This is why we can smell ozone after it rains.

About the Additional Ingredients

Blue Tansy Essential Oil is derived from a North African flower. It is soothing for the nervous system and for skin. It is wonderful for sensitive skin. Blue Tansy calms and cools skin irritation, and reduces heat and inflammation. Blue Tansy relieves a variety of skin conditions, including Eczema, Rosacea, acne, dermatitis, and rashes. It is an ideal scent to apply to assist in a calm mind and a sound sleep. Blue tansy can also create more balanced hormones and a more healthy immune system.

Wildcrafted Blue Cypress Essential Oil is a beautiful and powerful oil. It is wildcrafted from trees grown by the Australian Tiwi people. Australian Blue Cypress Essential Oil is steam distilled from the bark and heartwood and is a vibrant cobalt blue color. The color of Blue Cypress Oil is the result of a compound in the wood called guaiazulene, which is rare and potently anti-inflammatory. Organic Carrot Seed Essential Oil is rich in antioxidants, and is known for its ability to nurture and repair damaged skin. It soothes and smoothes as it regenerates skin cells. Organic Rose Geranium Essential Oil is antidepressant, antiseptic, astringent, cicatrisant, cytophylactic, diuretic, deodorant, haemostatic, styptic, tonic, vermifuge, and vulnerary. This authentic Organic Rose Geranium Essential oil is not a combination of Rose & Geranium, but rather comes from a distillation of the leaves and stalks of the Rose Geranium plant. Rose Geranium has been used for hundreds of years for skin healing and restoration. It is anti-aging, revitalizes cells, clear skin congestion, and helps to balance both oily and dry skin. Organic Helichrysum Essential Oil. The name "Helichrysum" is a Greek word that translates to "gold of the sun." Organic Helichrysum Essential Oil contains special substances known as diketones, which target both scars and stretch marks. Helichrysum not only works to reduce scar tissue, but also stimulates the growth of new, healthy, properly structured collagen. 

The Elaa Ritual

Ideally, use after Golden Sunrise Cleansing Cream and Moonlight Mist and apply alone without layering serums or moisturizers with it. Smooth over face for calming, healing, moisturizing, regenerating, and balancing of the skin. If you wish to use it all over, you can thin it out with Moonlight Mist for a less rich application. Apply to any inflammations, rashes, infections, or areas of trauma or post aesthetic treatments on face or body.

Ozone’s miraculous healing effects are actually in that it is an oxidant, but in the best way. So using it at the same time as an antioxidant somewhat cancels out the effects of both. It is not harmful, you just don’t get the full positive benefits if you use them at the exact same time. So, it is suggested that you use your other Elaa serums or moisturizers (all have antioxidants) at a different time of day. We prefer After the Rain at night due to its rich texture. But, once you test them out for yourself, you'll know what works the best for you.

A detox response is possible when using ozonated products. If you are having a detox response, it can possibly look like a breakout, but it is not acne. The best method for using ozonated products is to spot treat and gradually get your skin used to it. If you have never used ozonated products before, do not just apply all over your face. It is best to get your skin used to it first. Just like using any detoxifying product, you want to titrate to avoid an unpleasant response by over-detoxifying. If you do get a detox response, it will subside as your skin completes purging the toxins.

Massage into underarms to use as a deodorant. If you wish to additionally use it as a deodorant, it can help in that it kills bacteria and removes odor. It doesn't block or absorb moisture, but it does kill the bacteria that causes odor. Ozone gas is used in spaces to disinfect and remove odors, so the ozonated oil functions the same way.

Degradation of the ozone does not occur unless the product is kept in sustained temperatures of over 130°F and in UV light. Both of these factors must be met to degrade the bonds formed during the ozonation process. After the Rain is protected from UV by the Miron Violet Glass of its jar.

*Heat Sensitive. Instructions if it melts in transit:

If it arrives as a liquid due to warm temperatures in transit, place in refrigerator and allow to solidify for several hours before opening the jar. It is is only partially liquid when it arrives, or it is solid in an odd shape. It leaves us completely solid, flat, and smooth, but it can melt in transit and then resolidify in odd shapes. In this case, place the lid on super tightly. Place it in a warm water bath that goes below where the lid starts for a few minutes. Once liquid, place in refrigerator very gently and do not move it for a few hours. Then you should have a solid, smooth, even surface.

Just to update you, these two products have been just goddess-sent in helping me with my scarring, inflammation and overall heath of my face. Though I try to practice a very holistic lifestyle, sometimes the healing process can cause crisis on my face and it can be a little uncomfortable. 

I use the 'After the Rain' as a night treatment to help repair and heal the skin at night. It smooths out my dry areas and my face absorbs the product as a sponge. I wake up with a 'brighter' awakened complexion. As for the 'Clarity Elixir', I use it during the day as a moisturizer to smooth out my skin. I use it under my 100% Pure Mineral Tinted Moisturizer.  My face has appeared to be less stressed, traumatized and clearer. Just a note to tell you about the beginning of successfully healing rosacea on my face. At 78 years of age, I noticed my face breaking out like a teen.
